We generally put conway buckles ONLY on the drops to the britchin', use roller buckles on all other straps for easier adjustment.  We can modify this to your requirements.  The halfbreeds we build, they can be of strainer felt as shown on our beautiful model, or all canvas, these are stuffed with 1" felt, and can be made with a leather overlay instead of the boards.
